Athens, GA—Local architectural engineer Rebekah Kim arrived at work this morning only to discover that the shirt she believed she was wearing was composed entirely of her pets’ hair.
Kim was quite pleased with herself for arriving early to work and getting a head start on her day when she started her usual practice of grabbing a pencil and putting it into her front pocket.
“I always keep a pencil in my front pocket during the day,” she explained. “I often have to scribble down some notes or mark up prints. But this morning I grabbed a pencil and found there was no pocket to put it in.”
She says that in retrospect, several events of her morning make more sense after discovering she was not in fact wearing a real shirt.
“I passed Mark on the way out of the elevator, and I remember him looking at me and going, ‘Huh, interesting.’ I just figured he was surprised I was here early.”
She also remembers being incredibly itchy during the drive, but assumed it was just allergy season.
“I just figured it was because I forgot to take a Zyrtec this morning.”
Kim and her husband live in a two-bedroom apartment with three dogs and four cats.
“It’s pretty normal to find some stuff on me when I get here, but usually I just use the sticky roller. I keep a couple of them at my desk, one in my car, another in my purse, and one in every room of the apartment. Though I probably shouldn’t use it today…”
Asked whether she plans to go home and change, she hasn’t decided.
“I’m honestly pretty sure no one else is going to notice. And if they do, what are they gonna do? Although Shelby has asthma, so maybe I should cancel coffee with her.”
